2022 October, For Sale Kaufman One Tonner "White Pointer", Price AU $49,950 Negotiable, Length 37' 1" - 11.30m, Location Sydney Region Mosman NSW, Launch Year 1977, Hull Material Timber; Huge price reduction for immediate sale. White Pointer has just undergone (in August 2022) a complete topsides and deck repaint as well as a full antifoul and Propspeed so presents in outstanding condition and ready to go for the 2022 sailing season. She is a well known, one fastidious owner from new, Scott Kauffman designed 37 foot One Ton sailing yacht. Superbly crafted in 1977 by master yacht builders Walker and Jaffray she remains in almost "as new" condition. Her hull is constructed using four diagonal cold moulded skins of Californian Redwood over Spruce stringers and is sheathed in Dynel. She has a stainless steel space frame to support rig loads allowing her to be as tight as the day she was built. White Pointer has enjoyed a highly successful offshore racing career over many years including four Sydney to Hobarts, multiple Sydney to Mooloolaba, Sydney to Coffs and placed 4th in the 1977 Australian One Ton Cup. She has more recently been actively campaigned around the buoys and twilight races at MHYC. She is powered by a well maintained 2010 Yanmar 15 HP diesel V- drive engine and stainless steel through hull shaft with an Auto Stream three blade feathering propeller. The engine was serviced in February this year. The mast is aluminium with the Stainless Steel wire standing rigging replaced at the end of 2018. She would make an ideal yacht for someone looking to own a piece of Australian yachting history and appreciates the beauty of these yachts. She would be just as home cruising the coast, racing around the buoys or enjoying a social twilight sail. She would also continue to race competitively in the emerging "Ton Class" events.
