2021 November, Just Listed, For Sale Coromandel III Peterson 39, from -80, Price AU $37,500; Length 39' - 11.88m Vessel Location Hobart TAS, Hull Material Composite GRP (Epoxy Resin with Balsa Core). Originally launched as an IOR One Tonner for the Admirals cup trials for a prominent Victorian yachtsman, this Peterson 39 has enjoyed a very successful racing history. Doug Peterson boasted an excellent reputation for creating fast and easily managed yachts for the IOR rule which continue to be competitive now under IRC and AMS. This vessel was a consistent performer on Port Philip Bay under previous ownership where it was extensively upgraded with North 3DL race sails and a new Volvo 38HP Engine in 2004. The current owner sailed the vessel to Hobart where it has been enjoyed as a local family cruiser and social racer. Having been well maintained, and freshly antifouled (late Nov 2021), this vessel presents an excellent opportunity to start racing this summer, and to enjoy weekends away on a vessel of this size for a minimal investment! Stepping inside, the vessel has a light and airy feel with the white finishes and timber trims. To port is the galley. This is well set up with a 2 burner metho stove, excellent storage space, and central box housing a large esky. This also provides excellent security when preparing meals underway in more challenging weather conditions! Opposite is the well appointed chart table which is impress even the most discerning sailor, complete with Raymarine Chartplotter, radio, and instruments. Despite its racing Heritage, this vessel does have many cruising features including a stunning timber dinette on the starboard side, with comfortable seating for 6 on the neatly upholstered settees. There is comfortable accommodation for 8 with 4 aft pipe cots and 2 settee berths available. The package is complete with a manual toilet forward of the mast. On deck, the vessel is well equipped with 6 self tailing winches, quality blocks, and well set up systems. There is excellent access around the wide side decks, and the vessel is easily managed shorthanded for weekend cruises. This vessel is powered by a new in 2004 Volvo 38HP Diesel Engine. This has been well maintained and is easily accessed under the companionway for hassle free servicing. This provides plenty of power and easy cruising at 6 knots. With the weather getting warmer, now is the time to get out and enjoy racing! Ideal for a syndicate looking for an entry level race yacht with weekend cruising capabilities, this is a great opportunity!
