are very please to bring to market this beauitiful, strong, well maintained
and fast cruiser/racer. Launched in 1987 as Queensland Maid, this Farr 40 IOR
One Tonner has had an illustrious career. She has raced in all the major races
including S2H multiple times with a best placing of 3rd overall in 1991. Commissioned
and built by her owner Bob Robertson and built in Caboulture out of epoxy and
Kevlar sandwich utilizing a PVC vacuum bagged core. This type of construction
provides for a very stiff boat and clean roomy interior. She is strong. Very
strong. 11 years ago she was bought by her current owners and modified to go
cruising. She has had her interior completely remade and is an open plan and
very comfortable cruising yacht. She is now wheel steered too. Comfortably cruising
up and down the Queensland coast she looks magnificent and sails fast and stable
easily sitting on +7kts in 12kts of breeze. Her Volvo Penta 43HP motor has been
well looked after with a regular maintenance schedule as well as new turbo unit
(2019), fully reconditioned gearbox (2020). Receipts available. With the resurgence
in restoring IOR race yachts taking place worldwide this yacht could very easily
