Moulded by Fairey Allday Ltd, Troy is hull No.1 and is a low tech solid laminate boat, built as befitted a company more associated with the construction of lifeboats.

1980 Troy was fitted out on the North East coast for racing under the IOR and launched

2010 March, For Sale 14500GBP, in Grimsby East Yorkshire UK Troy is for sale again. It'll be sad to see her go but we need a new challenge. She is still a great boat for both cruising and has loads of racing life left in her. For us she has been a fantastic dual purpose boat. She's a Mistral 31 Designed by Rob Humphreys & moulded by Fairey Allday Ltd and first launched in 1980. Troy is a delight to sail. She tracks beautifully and has a wonderfully light and responsive helm. She is easy to sail and we have no trouble sailing her 2 handed with complete confidence. Single handed sailing is practical with all control lines leading back to cockpit. With the ability to tweak the forestay at will using the runners she can point with the very best and has devastating performance in light winds. She will surf readily down waves offwind - we have seen 12 knots. When cruising shorthanded we use an old No2 or No3 and find that is plenty unless in really drifting conditions. Cruising in heavy winds once the second reef is in the mainsail can be tacked inside the runners both of which can be left on for total security. We, and many others think she is a very pretty boat The hull is in good condition and is strongly built and durable. The rig is as good as new with new boom end of 2009, new sails over the last three years and the engine is just faultless yanmar gm10 starts first time. The interior is not to Moody standard but it is practical with all necessary comforts. The boat has been continually upgraded in our ownership. With supporting paperwork back to the 1980’s,
