The July 2006 Melbourne to Vanuatu (Leg 1) & Port Vila to Mackay (Leg 2) Race & the March 2007 Melbourne to Osaka Cup (both are run as two-handed races) will serve as training ground for the GOC Global Challenge.

2021 Mid July, World record attempt - solo and unassisted record sail around Antarctica, "Not satisfied with three world records, Australia's own Lisa Blair is once again heading off to better Fedor Konyukhov's 2008 solo and unassisted record sail around Antarctica of 102 days 56 minutes. The solo adventurer is due to depart Albany in Western Australia mid-December 2021."
