It was a Beneteau Custom 40 brought to the US by the French factory team for the Southern Ocean Racing Conference (SORC) in the Winter of 1985. It was a bare-bones racer and the French didn't want to take it home, so it was "available"... We were 2nd overall with it in the '85 Chicago-Mac. Then we survived the '85 Bayview-Mac -- the roughest race I've *ever* sailed... We're waiting for the wind to fill in at the '85 LTYC Regatta."
