Spanish Team,
2007
Mai, Mystery boat, It looks like Brasil 1... This boat definitely isn't the Farr designed former Brasil 1 moored up in Alicante harbour. Nor has it been bought by a leading Spaniard as the training boat for a new Spanish two boat fully crewed round the world race campaign. Nor has this formerly mono ruddered vessel been fitted with twin rudders. Nor for that matter do we remember Brasil 1 having chines... Deny deny deny.
16 octobre, While quiet, the Spanish team is far from idle. The Farr office are working their magic on the design of the new boats - they will definitely have two boats - and Bekking says they continue to take blocks of time to go out training on the modified Brasil 1, which, as we revealed last year, has been fitted with chines in her hull (like the late movistar) and twin rudders (like the ABN AMRO boats). Bekking himself has otherwise had a busy year driving Jose Cusi's TP52 Bribon on the Breitling MedCup circuit to racing on Farr 40 circuit with former World Champion Jim Richardson and Prince Frederik of Denmark.
